The effect of multiple hosts and the bimodal incubation period on malaria transmission in Korea
|
Malaria is caused by a parasite called Plasmodium, which is
transmitted via the bites of infected mosquitoes. The incubation
period of malaria, the times from infection with a microorganism to
onset of disease, is directly relevant to prevention and control, and
explicit models of the incubation period enhance our understanding of
the spread of disease.
In this talk, we discuss how to calculate the incubation periods of P.
vivax in Korea, and try to find out how the number of animal
population does effect on the incidences of malaria.
