Some self-reactive naive T cells escape the negative selection in the thymus and may cause autoimmune diseases. T cell anergy is one of the mechanisms to prevent the diseases. T cells which are insufficiently stimulated by MHC/peptide complexes becomes inactive and their cytokine production is changed. In this study, we discuss the adaptive significance of T cell anergy with considering Bayesian estimation by T cells.
