研究内容

My research interest is related to environmental problem, biodiversity conservation, poverty, conflicts between people and its resolution. Although those seem different, from the perspective that we can somehow control or at least alleviate suffering from those problems based on our decision to allocate or use our resource, they are connected, so that my academic interest is resource management or allocation, so called, sustainable science. I use very simple dynamics of ecology and human decision until recently which is useful for synchronization of two aspects. The projects I have studied are (1) the resource management of common fishing ground including the possible conflicts which can be caused by new resource usage, (2) optimal allocation of funds for biodiversity between awareness-raising activities of people about biodiversity and direct conservation activities, (3) the optimal level of punishment the role of which has been intensely discussed but the mechanism to decide the level has not yet studied that much despite its importance.
