We present the first model that explains the sudden change in dynamics we observe when honey bee colonies decline. The dramatic and unexpected losses of honey bees can be seen within a very small change in the bifurcation parameter. This can be visualised using bifurcation analysis. We will compare numerical solutions of this model with previous studies and discuss implications for the biological problem.
