Sympatric speciation and the costs of being choosy

I will briefly review the history of mathematical modeling of sympatric speciation. I will make generalizations on the plausibility of this process and on factors constraining and promoting sympatric speciation. I will identify the costs of being choosy as a major factor controlling the dynamics of sympatric speciation.
