A vital issue in cell biology is the question of how structurally identical biochemical networks can exhibit multistability and bifurcation, which elucidates the nature of cell plasticity. A practical method of addressing the question is still lacking despite many datasets nowadays. In this work, we developed a feasible and general method for the multistability and bifurcation analyses, solely based on the network maps. With examples, we also illustrate how this method can reveal the effect of network modifications and help with cell reprogramming.
